Weddings

With its central London location, riverside setting and unique cultural history, Southbank Centre is an ideal location for your wedding or civil partnership ceremony. The St Paul's Roof Pavilion, Weston Roof Pavilion and Level 5 Function Room are all licensed venues and can be hired individually or combined to accommodate both your ceremony and your reception. Company of Cooks offers all inclusive wedding catering packages from £50.00 per person.

Queen Elizabeth Roof Terrace

Located above the Queen Elizabeth Hall and with magnificent views over Westminister and the River Thames, this large space is the perfect summer venue for your celebration.

Level 6 St Paul's Pavilion

This room is located on the sixth floor of the Royal Festival Hall and commands exceptional views over London towards St Paul's and the City.

Facilities include private toilet and a food preparation area. It is also licensed for weddings and civil partnership ceremonies.

Level 6 Weston Roof Pavilion

This room is located on the sixth floor of the Royal Festival Hall and commands exceptional views over London including the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye.

Facilities include private toilet facilities and a food preparation area, and is licensed for weddings and civil partnership ceremonies.

Royal Festival Auditorium

The Royal Festival Hall is the centrepiece of Southbank Centre, hosting events from orchestral and pop concerts to conferences and graduation ceremonies. The Hall benefits from a state-of-the-art stage and rig, a large number of back-of-house areas and many of the original 1950s features.

Also within the Royal Festival Hall building are a number of additional reception rooms and foyer spaces that can be used for breakout rooms, catering, entertaining etc when the auditorium is hired, or hired on their own for smaller events.

Level 5 Function Room

The Level 5 Function Room is situated on the fifth floor of the Royal Festival Hall and has floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the London Eye, Big Ben and Westminster. With its own food preparation area, it is an ideal location for receptions and dinners, but can also be set for conferences, meetings and workshops. It also has a sizeable foyer area that can be used as a registration or cloakroom area.

The Level 5 Function Room is licensed for weddings and civil partnership ceremonies.

160 - Seated dinner
100 - Cabaret style

Also on this floor is the Level 5 Prom and Balcony, which can on occasion be hired for private events. This space can acommodate up to 800 for a standing event, and has exceptional views of the Thames.

Level 4 Green and Blue Bars

On Level 4 of the Royal Festival Hall and at the side of the auditorium are two large interval bars that make ideal break-out rooms or spaces for less formal meetings during the day. Note that these spaces cannot be hired when there is a performance taking place in the auditorium.

Level 3 Sunley Pavilion & Function Room

Located on the third floor of the Royal Festival Hall, these intimate spaces are ideal for break-out groups, small meetings, receptions and private dining.

Level 2 The Clore Ballroom

On rare occasions, it is possible to hire the Ballroom at the Royal Festival Hall.

The Ballroom is the largest Ballroom in the UK and can accommodate 800 standing and up to 440 for a seated dinner.

Purcell Room

Located in the same complex as the Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Purcell Room is an intimate auditorium space that is ideal for lectures, debates and meetings. An extended stage can be put in for performances.

The Purcell Room shares a foyer with the Queen Elizabeth Hall. Parts of the foyer can be used for event registration and small receptions.

Waterloo Sunset Pavilion & Hayward Gallery Project Space

Waterloo Sunset is an elliptical glass pavilion, and is considered to be an artwork in its own right.

It can be hired in conjunction with a private view of the current exhibition or on its own and is an exceptional space for events. The Pavilion opens out into the Project Space which houses a rolling programmes of small exhibitions.

These spaces can only be hired outside of the Hayward Gallery opening times.

Queen Elizabeth Hall Foyer

The Queen Elizabeth Hall foyer, shared by the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Room, is ideal as a registration, catering or exhibition area if you are using either Hall for a conference. 

Equally, it can be hired for cabaret style events, dinners and receptions. The space has its own stage area and is well equipped with sound and lights.

Queen Elizabeth Hall Auditorium

The Queen Elizabeth Hall Auditorium is an adjacent building to the Royal Festival Hall and shares a large airy foyer with the Purcell Room.  Back-of-house there are a number of dressing rooms, green room and Artists’ Bar that are all available for use by hirers.

The foyer can be used for registration, catering, receptions and exhibitions, and on occasion can be closed to the public.
